According to U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) data, approximately 2,400 children are injured in incidents related to electrical receptacles each year. In response to these statistics the 2008 National Electrical Code® (NEC) will include a new requirement for residential receptacles to be Tamper-Resistant.
P&S Tamper-Resistant Receptacles offer reliable, intrinsic solutions to prevent children from inserting foreign objects into receptacles and suffering electrical burns. Our patented UL-listed shutter system protects children from injury.
Tamper-resistant Receptacles are:
UL listed — subjected to intense, documented testing procedures |
Permanent — once installed, they offer continuous protection, unlike plastic outlet caps that can be removed or forgotten |
Reliable — this hard-wired solution eliminates the worry about inserting, losing or breaking the device |
Automatic — protection remains, even with plug or cord removal |
Most states and municipalities adopt new Code editions within two years, and P&S is ready - with Tamper-Resistant versions of all receptacles used in residential installations in stock and available now.
